Ex-Nihilo

This is a datapack made for minecraft skyblock. It is suited for a scenario, where the overworld and the nether are fully removed (biomes and structure boundary boxes are still there). The only exception is one grass block, the player spawns on. On first spawn, the player is granted one bamboo. Nearly every item is obtainable.

Custom features:

• Wandering Trader: the spawnrate of wandering traders is increased. Each 3 days there is an attempt to spawn one. In addition, three custom trader will spawn in a 5 day interval each (Note: wandering traders will only spawn if no other trader is around):
  • Roderick the Runesmith will sell every smithing template for the cost of 16 emeralds and 4 of the required ingredient to trim your piece. (The only exception is the Rib Armor Trim, that will need 4 nether brick). He is accompanied by a camel.
  • Cornelius the Collector will buy rare items for emeralds, or change them for other rare items, that would otherwise be impossible to obtain. He is accompanied by a horse.
  • Benedict the Botanist will trade rare plants and animals. He is accompanied by a mule.
  • Note: each of the three wandering traders companion wont despawn.
• Custom Loot: some loot tables were changed:
  • Fishing: when fishing in deep dark biome, there is chance of obtaining a disk fragment 5 as treasure loot
  • Bartering: there is a small chance of obtaining 1-4 nether wart
• Custom Crafting: some recipes were added:
  • Ancient Debris: TBA
  • Netherite gear can be cafted like any other gear using netherite ingots
  • Amethyst: TBA
  • Bamboo Planks can be craftex with 4 bamboo in 2x2
  • Cobwebbs: TBA
  • Cobbled Deepslate: TBA
  • Heart of the Sea: TBA
  • Leather can be obtained by drying rotten flesh on a campfire
  • Sand and Red Sand: TBA
  • Tinted Glass can be obtained by smelting Soil Sand/Soil in a blast furnace
• Rituals: there are riuals that need to be performed in order to progress
  • Lava: to get lava, one must place a cauldron and 4 lightning rods around it. Then a glowstone (block not dust) has to be thrown into it, lightning will strike and the glowstone will melt into lava. (For the ritual to work, the cauldron must be placed near the sky-limit, 315 or higher)
  • End Portal: in order to summon an end portal, a structure has to be built out of crying obsidian and soul torches. (Note: the glass is not needed and is just there as reference). On top of the central crying obsidian, an endermite has to be sacrificed, for the ritual to start.
• Custom mechanics:
  • Bamboo Dance: when sneaking, nearby bamboo has a 10% chance to grow one block. (This affects all bamboo in a 9x9x9 area around the player, so 4 blocks in each direction) With this method, bamboo can even grow beyond its limit.

 

Note: this datapack was made with Minecraft version 1.20.4. However, it should work with other datapacks, like bundles, villager rebalance ....

Version history:

• v0.2 fixes netherite pickaxe crafting recipe as well as wandering traders not spawning.
• v0.1 is like v0 functionally complete, with a custom  icon and some renaming.
• v0 includes all mechanics listed above, no custom world creation, advancements need renaming.
